Building Student Portfolios Using a Free DIY Web Tool
It has been proven that students who produce work for a larger, authentic audience take more time and care in the creation of their work. In this session, you will learn to use a free, do-it-yourself tool (Weebly) that will allow your students to create individualized portfolios that can showcase their hard work. You will also learn how to set up and privatize a class of students so that you can control and monitor each of your students' portfolios.

Think you’ve seen it all, look again! How does it all connect? What’s new and cutting edge for iPad, Web 2.0, computer and device technologies with a focus on how they all play well together! Cross connectivity, access, communication and learning tools. Come into my sandbox and see what new “toys” - hardware, software and apps - I’ve found connecting the dots of engagement, access, exploration, or even solutions for easy distribution of materials between platforms! Tools for iPads and Androids, thread the connections between apps to create new possibilities and more. From Bluetooth devices, to “pushing” technologies learn how to create a truly connected and engaging learning environment.
Integrating Google Apps
In the time of mobile devices and easy access to wireless Internet (wifi), it is extremely important to give your students 24-7 access to the information and resources used in class. At times, you may want to have students complete an assignment or activity prior to coming to class so that they have the background knowledge necessary to jump right into an activity the next day. Other times, students will be absent from school or will need to revisit material to get a better grasp on the concepts. Giving them anytime-anywhere access will help students stay current and be prepared to participate more fully in your class. In this session, you will use Google applications to create assignments that students can complete prior to coming to class so that they are prepared for the next day's activities. Google apps like Sites, Form, Docs, Youtube, and more will be explored.
